Model C

The Pegasos Coldblood – our pegasious transporter

Main Purpose

This model is our biggest vehicle with the combined capability of travelling on land and in the air and for which both capabilities are equally given. So symbolically spoken this vehicle is, just like our Model W, a real flying horse.

The main purpose of our Model C is normal transport of goods, just like usually done by transporters nowadays. So simply spoken this vehicle is a flying transporter, or in our words a pegasious transporter.

Our Model C is therefore able to serve as an addition resp. as an alternative to usual transporters, especially in situations in which travelling on land alone is not optimal, e.g. if road infrastructure is often overloaded, damaged/out of order, or if road infrastructure is not available at all.

Specific Characteristics

Apart from the combined capability of travelling on land and in the air - and also apart from the common features, which have already been presented in the vehicles section - this model has certain specific characteristics which will be further described below.

On land

In land mode all propeller protection frames with integrated electrically driven propellers are folded down, resp. they are retracted and stored under the vehicle ceiling by some pivotal resp. extension mechanism. They are arranged in a way so that the doors for loading and unloading the vehicle are not covered and hence can be opened whenever required.

The wheels are driven by electrical hub motors and change of direction is controlled by an appropriate steering mechanism.

For safety reasons the vehicle is operated in this state by the same controls (Joysticks or Touchpad, depending on customers preferences) as in aerial mode.

In this state the vehicle’s width is smaller than an usual street width and hence our Model C is compatible with normal land vehicle infrastructure.

Transition & in the air

In transition mode (land <-> air) all protective propeller frames with integrated electrically driven propellers are folded up, resp. pulled out by respective mechanisms.

Like usual with multicopters - which this vehicle is in this state - change of direction (e.g. straight ahead, sidewards or turning around the vertical axis) is controlled by adopting the relative speed of the propellers.

For safety reasons the vehicle is operated in this state by the same controls (Joysticks or Touchpad, depending on customers preferences) as during land mode.

In this state the vehicle’s width is wider than an usual street width, however because the propellers are relatively high above ground they do not interfere with most other objects which are usually present in the land vehicle infrastructure (e.g. other vehicles or persons). This means that our Model C is still compatible with normal land vehicle infrastructure in this state in most cases and therefore take-off and/or landing in principle is possible almost everywhere when taking appropriate care.

The relatively heavy power source is located in the bottom of the vehicle and together with the folded up, resp. pulled out propellers this results in a center of gravity of the vehicle which clearly lays below the propeller plane, i.e. this results in a stable flight configuration.
